Don’t Drive to Punk in the Park San Francisco—So You Can Drink More

Saddle up that thar’ mule! Get in yer fancy britches, chaps, and’ spurs, and head on down to the Cow Palace just outside the city on May 3rd, 2025, for Punk in the Park. If you ain’t familiar, it is a one-day festival hoedown of music, beer, food, and mayhem provided by the likes of Pennywise, Screeching Weasel, Lagwagon, Comeback Kid, Good Riddance, Leftover Crack, Dead to Me, Manic Hispanic, Rich Kids on LSD, The Queers, Channel 3, The Side Eyes, and Knocked Down.

The Cow Palace is conveniently accessible by public transport, which is encouraged by the venue. BART offers service to the Balboa Park Station, which is a short distance from the Cow Palace. Several bus lines also stop near the venue, including SF MUNI (Lines 8, 8BX, and 91 Owl) and Caltrain (Bayshore Station).

Getting there from Daly City by bus? Take the MUNI 8X bus line. Alternatively, hop on BART from Daly City to Balboa Park Station, then take the 8BX from Geneva Ave./Balboa Park BART Station to Santos Street/Geneva Avenue. When I lived in SF, I personally preferred the SAMTRANS lines 24 or 29.

There is parking available at the venue—last year it was $30. At the time of writing, that price hasn’t been confirmed, so check the official website for updates. Follow signs for event parking upon arrival. Be aware: in past years, I’ve seen long traffic lines to get in at other events like this, so consider arriving early, kids.

This is an all-ages event; however, please note that anyone under 18 must be accompanied by someone willing to make at least a half-serious attempt at being a responsible adult.

They got unlimited craft beer for folks 21+, available as a $15 add-on to your ticket. The beer tasting runs from 12 noon to 3 PM and features some of the best local, regional, and national craft beer, hard seltzer, and cider.

If eatin’s yer bag, there’ll be gourmet food trucks and local vendors—including vegan options.

If all that doesn’t wet your whistle, maybe this video of CH3 at Punk Rock Bowling will do the trick.

General admission is only $54.99—that’s less than five bucks a band. That’s a damn good deal. See you there, partner!
